Whoever denies Jesus is turned down before the Angels of God

October 17, 2015

Saturday of the Twenty-eighth week in Ordinary Time

Readings

13It was not through the law that the promise was made to Abraham and his descendants that he would inherit the world, but through the righteousness that comes from faith.

16For this reason, it depends on faith, so that it may be a gift, and the promise may be guaranteed to all his descendants, not to those who only adhere to the law but to those who follow the faith of Abraham, who is the father of all of us, 17as it is written, "I have made you father of many nations." He is our father in the sight of God, in whom he believed, who gives life to the dead and calls into being what does not exist.

18He believed, hoping against hope, that he would become "the father of many nations," according to what was said, "Thus shall your descendants be."

6You descendants of Abraham his servant, offspring of Jacob the chosen one! 7He the LORD, is our God whose judgments reach through all the earth. 8He remembers forever his covenant, the word he commanded for a thousand generations, 9Which he made with Abraham, and swore to Isaac, 42For he remembered His sacred promise to Abraham His servant. 43He brought His people out with joy, His chosen ones with shouts of triumph.

8I tell you, everyone who acknowledges me before others the Son of Man will acknowledge before the angels of God. 9But whoever denies me before others will be denied before the angels of God.

10"Everyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but the one who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven.

11When they take you before synagogues and before rulers and authorities, do not worry about how or what your defense will be or about what you are to say. 12For the Holy Spirit will teach you at that moment what you should say.

Notes on Reading:

A). Luke 12:10-12 - The sayings about the Holy Spirit are arrayed in the context of audacity in the face of persecution (Luke 12:2-9); compare with (Matthew 12:31-32) . The Holy Spirit is presented in Luke's second volume, the Acts of the Apostles, as the power accountable for the direction of the Christian mission and the foundation of bravery in the face of persecution.

B). Luke 12:2-9 - Luke shows a compilation of Jesus’ sayings urging His devotees to recognize Him and His mission courageously and ascertaining them of God's protection even in times of persecution, which are paralleled in Matthew 10:26-33.

Dear Humanity,

I personally encourage everyone to emulate JESUS' values on LOVE, FAITH, HOPE
and CHARITY, as the humanity has been a failure; which resulted to the more than two (2) years of pandemic and its after-effects on economy, not only here in the Philippines but worldwide.

And the saddest part of it, is that, it affected the POOREST of the POOR to even extremely be more poorer, in exchange of the affluent to be more richer.

Thank you and may GOD bless you and the whole family to have an enjoyed life's journey at home, Church, schools/universities, corporate commitments, public and places of interest.
